Randy started playing guitar at a young age. He took lessons
on and off for a few years, as well as joining and forming
bands. Playing gigs lasted about five years. In 1974, Randy’s music making took a back seat to raising a
In 1999, Randy purchased a guitar and used amp. This was a new
beginning. He started playing more and reconnected with a
friend, who plays bass and knew a drummer. Thus began the
“Basement Jam”. In October, 2006 Randy, Jenny, and Nick met and
formed Maple Road. In addition to the guitar, Randy plays
harmonica and shares lead and backup vocals. Currently,
his main gear includes Tom Anderson guitars, Clark,
Richter, and Fender amps. Musical
influences include the Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Page, B.B.
King, Santana and many more.
